And while my question doesn't pertain to this business item, it's one I'd like to have whomever the administration is driving. I continue to get emails from members of the public who are interested in where we are with our franchise agreement with Time Warner, and I'd appreciate an update on that from someone at some point in time. They sent us a draft that we're not at all happy with as a starting point, so we're getting ready to send them one that's not close to what they sent us. Very good. The first issue is I'd like to put into the planning committee the issue of Capitol Road projects for major corridors. These are for the corridors that the city owns, not the state, and our ability to maintain maintenance on those, such as Citation, Man of War, Reynolds Road, Alumni, things that we own that we have to maintain because the issue is none of us will ever have enough money in our neighborhood resurfacing dollars to pave one of those roads. So we need to get on a better maintenance schedule and identify those corridors and put money towards it each year in the budget so we can actually keep our major corridors up to speed in terms of paving. So I want to put that into planning. So the motion is to put capital resurfacing or capital projects? For major corridors. Okay. Major. All right. In our collective bargaining agreement, we bargained out the use of at-home fleet vehicles for our police department. And I'd like to put that issue back into committee for an update to see if we are saving money from what we anticipated saving. Since we've had some time from that last pass, I know we also received an e-mail from the other side of the table that have also offered possibly a compromise to going back to home fleet. So I'd like to have that issue updated in our public safety committee. Okay. I hear a motion from Council Member Stenet to put the home fleet policy in public safety. I second. Was that? Just quickly, I wanted to remind everyone of the downtown bash, trash bash or whatever, this Friday. I believe it starts at 10, and you can sign up, come any time, and it ends at 3 o'clock. And speaking of trash, I know we supposedly reinstated the inmate labor pickup, and I was hoping to get information about how that program will work, how we can follow up if we put a street on the list or whatever. I would just like to have more information about the implementation of that process. Commissioner Mason, welcome. Thank you. I know that they've been out already working on some crews, and I can have Director Ballard get in touch with your office and give you an update on that if you wish. But they've already commenced that project, and it's already yielding great benefits. Yeah, good. I have reported an area that was on a constant cycle in the past, and it still has been picked up. So I was just curious when they would get around to it. And if we need a presentation at a work session or just to let all the council members know how that's going to work. Which area was that? For Sales Road, Mason-Headley. Okay. I'll check on that. Thank you. Commissioner Maloney. Just to give you a follow-up, you do have a vote. Call 311-PAT, Tatum, and then we're putting a list together on complaint-driven. And as of right now, how it's working is our street folks pick them up, and they will monitor the inmates. And then once the bags are full, then our solid waste guys will come around and pick up the bags. So it's been working real well. We've done a lot of street the last couple weeks, and we're getting a lot of good feedback on it. But any time you get a street you need, just call 311, and we'll get it on the list. I guess I was just wondering how we track our list, And does that include every street in Fayette County? Well, it's the biggest complaint. I mean, over the years we've had like Fussell's Road and Todd's Road. We've had some problems on Todd's Road. We're going back and hit those means where we get a lot of complaints on. But we are starting to take other roads up, like, for instance, Alexandria. We did that a couple weeks ago before the football. Right, and it does look extremely low. And then we'll do a Brian Station Road and places like that. The ush mode that we've never done before that we will be taking on. So if we get that list together, we'll be glad. Matt Tatum will be putting that together. But it won't include residential streets, right? It's major. Major. Okay. That's what we're pushing for. Thank you. So, Commissioner, I know several of us have already sent streets to 311. We did some of those. We're doing a vote now. Okay. Council members, I guess I would ask, do you want to hear a presentation on this or just get some information by e-mail? Everybody says e-mail. So if Commissioner Mason, if you can ask Director Ballard to send Council an e-mail on the process and anything you want to add on e-mail, Commissioner Maloney. The inmates are different, totally different. I think the main thing is getting the street. I think that's what the most important thing the council wants is the street. And I think 311 is where we want to begin at 311 so they can keep the list of the streets. And then we've got a good program working to make sure the inmates get out there. I was wondering if we could get an update from, and you can just do it by email, about street sweeping. And there's a, you know, it would be really helpful if, like, for instance, my street is a dead-end street and there aren't signs up and they don't sweep it very often. but when they do, nobody knows about it ahead of time. So it looks like somebody was, a drunken soldier was, or a drunken sailor was driving. So if I knew, I would just let my neighbors know to get their cars off the street. And so if we could have, by email or whatever, the schedule of street sweeping, et cetera, that would be really helpful. We'll take care of it for you. Thank you. Thank you. Council Member Myers. We've got the fire up on the screen there. Friends of the Skate Park and UK Snowcats and WRFL present a 2013 green skate in Lexington, April 20th, this coming Saturday. Its registration begins, I believe, at 1 o'clock at the skate park in Woodland Park. And we're going to take a one-mile skate over from Woodland Park over to the WRFL green space on UK's campus. And there's going to be just a lot of great activity there. And I've been given a choice. You can rollerblade, skate, skateboard, bike, walk. I've been told I probably ought to ride my bike so that I don't break my arm, but my intent is to ride a skateboard over there. So everyone's welcome. If not, I wanted to just congratulate our 31 new police recruits, Councilmember Clark and Councilmember Scutchfield and Councilmember Farmer and I attended the graduation. In my memory, it's the first time I remember it being off-site, out of the LFUCG facilities, and it actually was quite wonderful. And these 31 new officers, they got to hear Judge Joe Hood, who gave quite an interesting talk, and it was just really exciting that because of actions that we took, we've got these 31 new officers on the street. So just wanted to mention that. Council Member Clark. Let me just add to that, Vice Mayor. In my mind, the outstanding part of that ceremony was the speech made by one of the candidates. It was absolutely amazing. I don't think he used a single note except when he was reading a list of people to thank. But if that's the quality of our recruits, we're certainly in good hands. Yes. Thank you. And these folks, these recruits, if I recall, represented states all the way from Maine to California. Lots of folks from other states are coming here to train and become our police officers, and of course a lot of Kentucky people too, so that speaks well of our training.
