and we now have a total of 15 historic districts. The board, which is appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the Urban County Council, is a part of the Division of Historic Preservation. The Historic Preservation Office maintains a full-time staff to assist you with your projects. The board encourages and recommends that applicants use them as a resource. The Historic Preservation Office is located at 101 East Vine Street, Room 220. It is our procedure to consider applications in the order in which they're listed in our agenda. In each case, we'll have a presentation by the staff and we'll hear any additional comments from the applicant. The board will then ask questions or make comments regarding the application and then hear comments from any other interested parties. The chair will then ask the board members to enter a motion. If you wish to address the board, please come to the microphone and state your name and address for the public record. We also ask that you write your name on the sign-in sheet by the door so that the information can be recorded correctly. I would like to note the following staff approvals before we begin our review of the applications. Is the applicant here? george hammock all right mr hammock uh the staff has reviewed your application and has recommended approval subject to what i call the standard conditions are you agreeing with them yes sir all right any questions or comments from the board members i just have a couple drawing questions once again just trying to always make sure we have the most accurate thing in the response um so on the um i noticed that you're moving the door adding a door on the wall that's to remain and as the wall that's being pushed out to the edge of the deck will be without a door that is correct okay so on the drawing that shows the proposed first floor plan there is a little section of the existing i assume it's the existing deck that still shows on the plan doesn't show on the elevations it's a funky little piece that stands on the edge is that going to remain no that that will that will the existing uh screened in deck uh line will extend on through and the doorway will uh move to one panel off of the existing house so it's in line with the uh hallway door Do the drawings need to be corrected then? The door is shown correctly. It's not included in the notation, but it's very clear in the drawing. I think it was more about the piece of the existing deck. It's got a funky kind of stair-step octagon concept. It does. And we are squaring that off just for the continuity of the screened-in board. So is funky an architectural term that I'm not familiar with? I didn't want to get too technical with you. So I'm assuming then that the deck, the new deck, let me look at this other drawing, yeah. Because the, I'm sorry, the new screen and porch does not go all the way to the corner. It steps off that corner. That's correct. The roof line does not surpass the edge of the house. so that small piece of deck that um is um that is shown to remain will actually be removed that's correct okay thank you that's the clarification i needed and i'll say do we need to have the applicant submit corrected drawings up to the staff whether mr kerb i believe that would be necessary thank you okay uh that falls within if there are changes or alterations you'll submit to the staff this is going to be a change that you're making to your plans okay and just read some myths that way the plans will match up yes your staff review with what you're doing i understand so it's for your own protection i understand okay i have a question real quick sure you're in the kitchen you're demolishing an infill on your plan it says demolish infill and door opening it looks like you're installing a new door in that old opening that's in the old opening and then well I guess right now the opening has been infilled as it exists correct and then you'll be putting a new door taking away the infill and putting a new door in on the screened-in porch it's inside the screen in porch but it's on the actual structure of the house there there was a door from the exterior still visible on the interior it was blocked off okay we've removed the interior from it so that door while it's it's going to become functional it'll it's the door that existed already and you'll continue to use it that's correct okay that's correct it was just screwed off and then covered up from the outside it didn't change it's exactly the same from the inside it's just going to simply become functional. Okay well I only brought it up because if it was a new door we'd want to talk about it. I understand. Yes sir. Thanks. Any other questions or comments from the board members? Any questions or comments from the audience? If not then the chair is ready for a motion. Mr. Chairman, I move to approve the application for a certificate of appropriateness for case number 06510611-F at 611 Ellesmere Park with the two standard conditions. All right. Do I have a second? Second. Any further discussion or comments about the application or motion? All right. Then the Chair will call the question. All those in favor of the motion say aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed? Nay. Motion passes and the certificate appropriateness is approved, sir. Thank you, Chair. Thank you so much. Excuse me. Could you help me spell your name? All right. Are you in agreement with that? Yes. As well as the two standard conditions? Yes. All right. Any questions or comments from the board members? Anything? I have a very dwindled audience at this point. Do I have any questions or comments from the audience? If not, then the Chair is ready for a motion. Mr. Chair, I move to approve the COA application for case number 02500516-F at 516 North Broadway with the following conditions. number one being submit final door details and specifications to staff for review and approval prior to the issuance of a certificate of appropriateness and the two standard conditions okay do I have a second second all right any further discussion on the motion if not then the chair will call the question all those in favor of the motion say aye aye opposed nay motion passes and the coa as conditioned is approved thank you sir thank you all All right.
