Don't grab the tongue. We're going to tuck the hips under. And I'm going to keep the legs together. Don't let this stuff start to happen. So I'm going to press the hips forward. Think about pushing that right knee to the floor so you can stretch the quad and the hip flexors. But really tuck your pelvis under. Push your pelvis towards me. Open up that chest a little bit. Take that right foot, step back, get your heel down. Lean in and get that calf stretch. Sometimes your calves can get really sore from steps. And that's the backward movement that we do so much of. Your body's not used to that. So if you cause a little bit of soreness in the calf muscle, let's switch legs. So then right heel in, legs together, tuck under. Now if you don't want to do that to stretch, just walk it down in that runner's lunge and tuck your hip under. Focus on stretching that crumb or sound. Tugging the pelvis, softening that stabilizing knee. Let that heart rate come down. Pushing that leg back, give the heel down, lean in a little bit by bending that front knee. Still tucking under. Bring it in, push those hips side to side a little bit. Give them a circle a couple times in each direction. I appreciate you working out with me today. Part of this is a walking tour of all of the kinds of shrubs, trees, whatever neighborhood. This is going to be followed up by another one that will have some historical markers in the neighborhood, but it's something that is outdoors. It's something that's easy to access because you'll find larger signage in the medians with a little rack with with these things in them so you go over and pick it up but it has everything in it including the definitions of median verge understory tree and the definition of shrub a woody plant that is smaller than a tree and has several main stems arising at or near the ground something i did not know this morning so if you're out and want to get something fun to do go to ashland park thank you Mayor. Our community continues to lose a lot of important people, and I just want to send my condolences out to the family of Latasha Benton. Tasha was a childhood friend. Our families were real good friends growing up, and we went to school together. She passed away last week, and her services are going to be this coming Saturday. She always had a smile on her face. She was a real passionate person and was vocal and active in the community and is truly going to be missed. So our prayers go out to her family, Miss Stephanie and her son and her brothers and everybody that's impacted by it. This, you know, this pandemic makes it hard to mourn the ones that we lose just because of, you know, just the funny conditions that exist when you go to visit in the wakes. And we're really not touching each other. And right now people need hugs. And it's hard to do that in these conditions. And then also I wanted to make mention of the MLK Holiday Committee. One of the ways that we've been trying to keep Dr. King's dream alive and working to express and work towards the mission and the things that he believed in, we're having these critical conversations. We had one earlier in the summer, and we actually have one that's virtual this coming Monday, November the 16th at 6 p.m. If you go to the MLK Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration Facebook page, there's a link that you can sign up for and attend that 60 minute program. It'll be a question and answer opportunity, but that's a way that we can kind of build interest and keep the conversations that our community needs to have throughout the year, not just one day a year in January. And so if you want to spread that out to our veterans across the across the community in the state, it was as warm felt to hear everybody's words and to know that we can still even virtually hold up our veterans in a time like this, which is very important. The second thing is that I just again wanted to thank Assistant Chief Dwayne Holman. many of you know him he has been on our police force 29 years and tomorrow is his last day and I did a ride-along with him in 1999 when he was a young sergeant holman and I learned a lot from him he worked directly with three police chiefs through his career and he for the past five years he has been overseeing the Bureau of Administration and developing our body-worn camera program, which we all know is so important. So I just want to wish him well as he goes into his retirement after all these years of service to our community.
