The first one, on Sunday, September 19, 2020, An internal allegation was made that firefighter Thomas Edens violated UDG 1.11 tardy late and absent without leave. At the conclusion of the investigation, the employee met with me and has accepted a written reprimand. Thank you. Is there a motion? So moved. Second. Thank you very much. Are there any questions for the chief? All right. Seeing none, all those in favor of approving, please show your hand. Is anyone opposed? Okay, that motion passes. Thank you, Chief Wells. And next we have one discipline for police and is Chief Weathers, there you are, right in the council chamber. Welcome. Good evening, everybody. I just have one disciplinary matter. On January 14th, 2021, an internal formal complaint was made that Officer Rachel Pernute violated General Order 1973-02K, Disciplinary Procedures, Appendix B, Operational Rule 1.40, Preventable Collisions. At the conclusion of the investigation, the employee met with Chief Weathers and has accepted a written reprimand and two weeks suspension of home fleet. Officer Rachel Perdue has been involved in three at-alt collisions within a 12-month period. The collisions occurred on January 11th, 2021, November 9th, 2020, and October 23rd, 2020. Thank you, Chief. Is there a motion? Council Member Reynolds, did you have a motion? I know I had a question. Okay, we'll get to those in just a minute. Is there a motion? Move approval. Thank you. Council Member Bledsoe, is there a second? Council Member McCurn. All right, now time for questions or comments. Council Member Reynolds. You're muted. Thank you. Thank you, Chief. I just had a question about the prior incidents. Is there a certain typical discipline for multiple incidents like that, or does it just depend? Having three, I guess, could just be concerning. Per general order, and after the third one, it's brought up for formal discipline. So before there was no formal discipline, and this is the first time that it's a formal discipline? It's typically what we do is we give coaching and counseling and retraining. And then if there's a second one, there's more coaching and counseling and retraining. and probably a little more extensive training than that. And on the third one, it moves up for formal discipline. Now, if there are other extenuating circumstances involved, this would not be the disciplinary complaint made. It may move to something either along the lines as unacceptable behavior or misconduct. So we do have the latitude to move to other things if there are some other circumstances involved. Okay. And are you able to tell me, I can't remember from what we read, but if there are any injuries in any of these incidences? I don't have that information. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Are there any other questions for the chief? All right. All those in favor of the motion, please raise your hand. Is anyone opposed to the motion? All right. That motion passes. Thanks, Chief Weathers. Thank you. Y'all have a good night. You too. All right, council. We have announcements. Who has an announcement? Councilmember Lamb Thanks Mayor I actually have a question of Commissioner Albright if that's possible I think she's in the waiting room She was earlier and there she comes Start talking until she's Hi Let's see if I can figure out how to get on my video Thanks Commissioner Good. I can go ahead and ask the question. Two quick questions. When is the next Community Shredding Day? Have we started thinking about that this year? Is that something that we're going to be able to do? Yes, ma'am. We do have one of those scheduled. I'll have to look at my emails to find the date. I believe we have one scheduled in April or May, but I'm not positive. Okay. I will look and share that. I appreciate it. I just had someone ask me that. yesterday the other thing has to do with these portable polypropylene dumpster bags they're called bagster bags and i saw one in my district the other day and i've never seen one and i looked it up and i googled it and it's um is that something that you all are seeing or is that something that we're addressing it's it's like a big dumpster but it's a bag i've seen those advertised. I have not seen them in service so far, so I'll have to do a little investigating, but I'm happy to do that. I have not seen one out in anybody's yard yet, but it sounds like they're here. Well, I need to probably go back and look at the address where I saw it at the property and see if it's private collection or not, but it certainly took me by surprise because I'd never seen one before. And so, okay, well, I just thought I'd bring that up, and thank you so much, commissioner thank you mayor thank you thank you thank you any other questions or announcements council members no well i would just like to wish council member maloney a happy birthday one more trip around the sun oh my goodness we can tell he's excited all right well if there's nothing else could i have a motion to adjourn, please. Come on, birthday boy. We could sing happy birthday. Okay, I'll second it then. Was that for the adjournment? Thank you. All right. Any questions? All those in favor of adjourning, show your hand. I think you can sing afterward. All right. We are adjourned. Thank you. Have a great evening.
