And further authorizing the mayor on behalf of the urban county government to execute the first renewal of the catering agreement. With CYLLC Lean Feast for the provision of breakfast, lunch, and supplemental snacks at the Family Care Center at an estimated cost not to exceed $205,530, so moved. The August 18th, 2026 Environmental Quality and Public Works meeting was joyfully called to order at 1 p.m. The committee unanimously approved the June 16th, 2026 meeting summary after receiving three presentations. The committee received updates on the neighborhood traffic management program, a proposed quick build program, the new traffic engineering manual, and the urban forestry street trees initiatives. The committee unanimously approved the traffic engineering manual. During the presentation of the manual at the committee, traffic engineering has requested removal of Chapter 8 from the manual. So with the council's indulgence, I'd like to move to approve the manual as presented in committee as set forth in the packet, excluding Chapter 8 on the recommendations of traffic engineering. So thank you to all the boards and commissions members who showed up. It was a really good turnout. We had some really great conversations with members of the public. Thank you to all my council colleagues who also came out and I don't know if you all know, we have our own DJ in LFUCG, Boyd Seway. And thank you especially to all the council aides and council staff that helped put the event together. It was really, really great and hopefully more to come in the future as we try to engage more of the public in the work that we do here. And then lastly, today is voter registration day. But just because it's voter registration day, it doesn't mean today is the last day. The last day to register to vote this year is October 5th. I just wanted to repeat again that today is the Viva Mexico Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Common Spirit Ballpark, which is the legend's field. It's going to be there for the first time. And then this Thursday, the 17th, is Aval's, Kentucky's 18th annual Dining Out for Life. I'm a big fan of Aval, what they do. They have their offices in the 11th district. And dine out at participating restaurants across Lexington this day and a portion of the days to sales will go to HIV prevention, testing, access to care, housing, and other essential services throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. There'll be Castle and Key Distillery, Wessex Brewery, Wise Bird Cider, Food Jasmine Rice, Frenchie's Pizza, Cart Brothers, and Bella's Ice Cream. Thanks for that event. We also have a Pasadena Neighborhood Fall Garage Sale this Friday and Saturday, this September 18th and 19th. They start both at 8 a.m. Look for the yard sale signs. We also have a Hillandale Fall Festival, which is at the Hillandale Park on Saturday the 19th from 1 to 5. And we have the Open Gate Semi-Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 4th. It'll be at Community Montessori at 6.30. And then lastly, since we don't have a meeting next week, the Southland Street Fair is on Sunday, September 27th. And that's usually a great event. We close the street down in front of the co-op. There's tons of people, great music and food. And it should be a great afternoon of fun. It usually starts around noon and ends around 7 or 8.
