We have carla k4eu8ders wife

division of police passed away

on DECEMBER 12th, 2026.

Wife of leone huffman passed

away on.

Jack burns passed away on

SEPTEMBER 23, 2026.

Orville cook passed away on

SEPTEMBER 26.

Richard reefs passed away on

SEPTEMBER 26, 2026.

Madeleine gilbert widow of jerry

gilbert passed way on SEPTEMBER

>> we'll pause a moment.

Before we go on to our

subcommittees we've had

retirements, disabilities,

tributes do I hear anyone want

to make a comment?

Chief?

>> first of all, my condolences

go out to the families

especially our expected families

of fire and police and then and

our former police officers that

passed away.

I know jerry gilbert and jack

burns were here when I started.

And so it's always sad when you

lose people, especially people

that you knew.

As far as retirements go, I'd

like to extend congratulations

and good luck to sergeant worth

and sergeant marovick and thank

you for your service and they

will be missed and I wish them a

long and happy retirement.

>> thank you.

Anyone else?

Any other.

>> thank you, mayor.

>> yes.

>> worked with leone huffman for

a number of years, condolences

to the huffman family.

Orville cook was a pretty

impressive gentleman to work

with.

Super nice guy, extremely smart.

And I learned a lot from his

obituary apparently he was one

of the first to start or work in

the ems program at the division

of fire.

He was sent to new york for

training.

In water rescues.

He started the first ambulance

out of keeneland.

Which was a special interest to

There's been a number of people

associated with the division of

fire that have worked with

ambulances out there.

But he was apparently the first.

Truly unique individual and he

will be missed.

Condolences to the rest of the

families.

>> thank you.

Any other?

Tommy.

>> I'm so sorry to see so many

of our retiree families pass.

I mean six is a lot for the

month.

Don childers I worked with don

for years.

Out in east so sorry to hear

about his wife, don was an old

country boy like me and we used

to do a bunch of four wheeling

up in eastern kentucky.

And it was a guarantee we went

four wheeling he was going to

get stuck and I was going to

have to pull him out.

It was part of it.

A lot of fun we had.

I worked also for quite a time

with jack burns.

Jack was kind of a very quiet

individual, but when he spoke,

he meant what was going to

happen and it was and he was

quite intelligent.

Madeleine gilbert, I met her a

couple of times.

Captain gilbert was my captain

for a while and then went years

he was in internal affairs and I

found him to be one of the

fairest people that I ever dealt

with in internal affairs.

My sympathy goes out to them and

the rest of the retiree family.

So sorry.

>> thank you.

Anyone else?

Detective jennings?

>> I would like to also

acknowledge the childers family.

I've had the pleasure and honor

of working with don and his son.

Excellent people.

Excellent police.

Don, himself, he saved me from a

lot of late calls when I was

trying to go home and he was

coming into work and his son is

an excellent officer himself.

So condolences to them and they

will be in our thoughts and

prargs.

>> thank you.

>> on behalf of the disiffion of

fire I would like to offer our

condolences to all the deceased.

I didn't know any of them

personally a few comments,

though.

He had debit huffman if half the

stuff I've heard about him is

true, she is a strong willed

individual.

And orville cook I learned a lot

reading his obituary.

Part of me as a citizen of

fayette county I appreciate his

work as ems.

I have different thoughts but

it's how it goes and the reese

family he was a big advocate for

suicide prevention and domestic

abuse.

I appreciate that as well.

>> thank you.

Anyone else?

I will add my voice to these

voices, and first of all

congratulate and thank sergeant

orth and argue marovchik for

their service to the community

and offer sympathies for those

who passed it is a lot this

month and who have served our

community or supported the

member of our police or fire who

served.

So thank you for that.

Now, we'll move on to our

subcommittees.

And first is benefits and second

is legislative and tommy puckett

has both of those.

>> I have nothing to report for

either one.

>> okay.

Normally you say fort is good?

Is it any different today.

>> the second one we're

pending --

a bunch information.

>> and lieutenant able do you

have anything on organizational.

>> no updates on the

organizational subcommittee we

have two items to address so

we're going to schedule a

meeting after we leave here

today.

>> thank you very much.

Does anyone have anything for

the good of the whole?

Susan?

>> just a friendly reminder that

our NOVEMBER board meeting has

been moved to NOVEMBER 18th,

location is in the phoenix

building third floor conference

room have that on your calendar

we will remind you when we send

the agenda out.

and callan will not be able to

make that meeting so they are

scheduled for the DECEMBER board

meeting they had a scheduling

conflict with the new date.

>> is there anything else before

we adjourn?

All right.

I will entertain a motion to

adjourn.

>> so moved.

>> a second?

>> all those in favor please say

aye.

We are adjourned.

Thank you very much.
